Con motivo del 6º aniversario de los atentados de Madrid, los de mayor magnitud en la reciente historia de España, la Fundación IDEAS quiere mostrar su cariño y solidaridad con todas las personas que, de una manera u otra, se vieron afectadas por el terror, al tiempo que pide a la sociedad que no olvide la memoria de las víctimas.

IDEAS Foundation, on the occasion of the celebration of International Women’s Day, urges businesses and institutions to end existing salary discrimination between men and women, which, according to Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Commission, stands at 17.1% in Spain and at 18% in Europe. Estonia shows the biggest difference, with a salary gap of 30% between men and women with the same job, and Italy the lowest with only 4.9%.

The Secretary of State for the European Union, Diego López Garrido, said today that the Spanish Presidency of the EU has come across what he defined as the “perfect storm”, that is a scenario of economic crisis which still requires a stronger Europe. Therefore, one of the main objectives of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union is to move towards an economic and monetary common space, for which Spain intends to direct the European Council towards a role to transform it, de facto, into the real economic Government of the EU.
